Is Rayos X included in the broke as a joke/got no wheels contingent?

Yeah, I am really bummed about this. I am up in the air as to whether I want to throw something together or just get a good night's sleep.

I don't think dropdead will go on until 11:30 or 12, but don't hold me to that.

5 days to go!

The raw ponx update is that sadly we couldn't work it out. Hopefully they make it up another time but it won't be happpening this weekend. It sucks, but I think the rest of the weekend will bed great and a little extra sleep never hurt anyone.

There may still be an afterparty there, but it will probably just be locals.

I went Friday. Paid, but got lost in my two pints of evan williams. Saturday, Funerot was great (as usual, or at least now that they have stuck to playing only the ragers) Resist was a real surprise. Best drummer I have ever seen hands down. He also looked like Chris Reifert. My only complaint about Saturday was that they were taking money inside not at the courtyard like usual enabling 30+ people to just hang outside leaving the actual show with only about 20+ people.

Dropdead was fucking great. I could go on about how much the rants/preaching was hard to watch/fucking awful, but I went expecting just that. Well maybe not the "praying" moves among other things. Best hardcore band I have ever seen. Though Dropdead (like many hardcore acts) every song sounds exactly the same. Raging all the way through. The "encore" (we are going to leave our amps on and walk off and then come back on like nothing happened) was sick. The songs from the "look back and laugh" split (my favorite material) Jerry Garcia with a Bastard shirt (aka the drummer) is fucking cool. Kudos to playing with glasses on.

Rumor has it the show lost quite a bit of money. I talked to at least 40 people whom could not go based on the door price. The show was definitely more then the "cost of an animal". I understand that bands have the get paid etc etc but Dropdead's fan base are basically those whom cannot afford/refuse to pay $20. The show should have been for $10-13 at the Morgue w/ IRON LUNG. BONE SICKNESS. Seeing them at Neumos was great though. (large stage/incredible sound) but if the show had been $10, I'd say at least 100 more people would have came.

Sunday, Wehrmacht destroyed. Proves that even if only 25 people are there if at least 10 of them are going completely insane it makes it all worth it. Props to those whom drank out of the 30 year old boot. Guitar player wore a BONE SICKNESS shirt while playing. Singer talked of the last Satyricon show w/ POISON IDEA on Halloween. Drummer was fucking great. (Supposedly he created the double foot blast, I believe it) and proceeded to puke all over his snare drum and do a huge snare roll spraying the puke all over. My only complaint was that the guitar players played through lousy "new" line 6 amps making the guitars sound like digital garbage.

Thanks to Mike Crow, Lonny and everyone who gave me great birthday wishes on my 19th Friday and Saturday.

The show at Neumos was a 6 band bill. Agrimonia is from Sweden, Brainoil drove up from the bay to play this show and we flew Dropdead in spending $2100 on flights. Air travel is the most expensive right now that it has ever been.
So there was no way to have the Ticket any lower and cover costs. If someone wants to see a show that has been advertised for months and they can not muster up $17.00 which is less than $3.00 per band they are not prioritizing.
We worked very hard and for free and lost a little not a lot but there was no way to have this show cheaper and even have a chance of covering costs. All ages shows also cost at least $1000 more to do at Neumos than 21 + shows so we would have had a lower split-point if we did the show 21 plus but we didn't want to exclude anyone.

I only saw the Ronoso/Norska show at The Comet. Both bands were solid.

Having Drop Dead/Brainoil the same night across the street was stiff competition and obviously the Neumo's show far won out but it could have been worse for those on the smaller show. Now that I think about it I would've been able to go back and forth between shows but finances are tight right now and Neumo's seems a little out of place for bands like Drop Dead. They played SSMA and 2AP last times they were here and those were very fitting venues. I do think $17-$20 was reasonable if you liked at least half the bill considering where the bands were coming from. How many people came out to the Neumo's show, btw?

Also, I really wanted to check out The Body on Sunday but had to work. How were they?

That was actually the idea between the Neumos show and Comet show that people could go back and forth and since usually people like drinkingat The Comet we thought there would be some cross over and we offered people with a Neumos stamp a discount. It didn't work quite as well as we hoped but that was the idea.
The Neumos show did well just not what we hoped for.
